Nagato said “The potential for evolution.”
According to Asahina-san, she was a “time warp.”
Koizumi treated her as a “God.”
Then what about me?
What does the person Haruhi Suzumiya… mean to me?
Kyon (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

It seems that Suzumiya-san is too busy feeling depressed to feel irritated.
Why’s that?
You should know the answer… but allow me to explain. Suzumiya-san believed that you were the one person who would be on her side, no matter what happened. You might complain and protest, but you would still forgive her.
And when you think about it, Kyon is the only actual friend that Haruhi has. He didn’t go along with all her schemes in the beginning because he knew about what she was and what she could do. He wasn’t sent by an agency or organization or data overmind. He has no obligation to be her friend or pay any attention to her whatsoever. It’s a path that he chose, not one that chose him.
Oh god, this episode is just the saddest thing.

Or else… she’ll spend the rest of her life as the asshole that everyone avoids!
Wow. This episode has taken a complete 180 from the usual tone of the show. Watching this scene has made me genuinely sad; you can see the anger written all over Kyon’s face, but also the fear and shock on Haruhi’s. She would never have thought he’d actually try to hurt her. And neither would I, to be honest. It’s only because of their friends’ intervention that he keeps from hitting her.
I feel really unsettled by this whole ordeal. The way Tsuruya stops laughing, and Mikuru begs them in a half-conscious state not to fight, and Itsuki just stares silently as he holds Kyon’s arm back. It’s just really—yeah. Tough to handle.
And then Kyon continued to do a poor job of denying his feelings for Haruhi.
It doesn’t matter anymore. I’m having the strangest, most wonderful experience I’ve ever dreamed of having! I don’t need to search for it when it’s happening right here!
